Hey everyone!

We have a new major update for Gibbon: Beyond the Trees on itch.io.

We always wanted to bring our game on par with the versions on Steam and consoles and now we were finally able to do so. So many new features and content!

And we can finally offer a Mac version as well!

Change log in more detail:

• Encyclopedia: We always wanted to include even more real world information about gibbons, their habitat and how they are endangered. We've added an encyclopedia with unlockable entries  which will give you more context and background information about the game's protagonists and their environment.

• Predator in Liberation mode: Can you escape the new bird of prey that hunts Lilac? Stay alert: The hawk-eagle now appears during Liberation mode and can kill our gibbons!

• General content updates
  • Added new story moment after the hunt
  • Added new levels  and areas to Liberation mode
  • More industrial areas in Plantation
  • Humans now react to gibbons passing by
    
• Lots and lots of polish and quality of life improvements
  • Take a break in our gibbon's family tree to celebrate whenever you free 10 animals. This improves the overall rhythm of longer runs in Liberation mode. 
    
  • Many visual improvements and bug fixes
    
  • Improved bounce animation
    
  • Double backflip from crane now possible
    
  • Cages align with sloped roofs
    
  • Cool water effects when running through shallow water
    
  • Performance and memory improvements
    

Unfortunately we can't provide the Daily Run mode/Leaderboards here on itch.io. We are very sorry but due to technical issues that is not possible at the moment!
